The Setup Secret That Makes More Putts: Tip 4 of 5 on How to Improve Your Putting by Spring

Great putting starts before the stroke even begins. In Putting Tip 4 of 5, Dave shares the importance of having a consistent setup routine every time you step over the ball. Start by squaring the putter face, then pick a small intermediate target just in front of the ball to aim at. Finally, set your feet in the same position each time.

A simple way to practice this is by using an alignment stick along with a few coins on the ground. Place two coins where your feet should line up and another behind the ball so you can return to the exact same setup again and again. As your body gets comfortable repeating the same position, your stroke becomes more consistent.

With the Delta Putt, you’ll see instant feedback. If the lead point tracks right, the face is open. If it tracks left, it’s closed. This simple routine helps you roll the ball on your intended line with confidence before spring.
